Aurelia’s Story
Aurelia, Latin for “golden”
Aurelia (an alias meaning “Golden”) arrived at the Rainbow Project when she was 8 years old. Her world was anything but golden—domestic violence, physical abuse, and a custody battle that felt endless, filling her mind with uncertainty.
Therapy gave Aurelia the tools her resilience needed. Breathing exercises calmed her inner chaos. Writing became her voice.
“I’m intelligent and creative. My stories—even if they’re somber—are how I express my feelings about experiences that are too hard process in the moment.”
Now thirteen, Aurelia is sprinting forward with Advanced Placement (AP) classes, cross country, and hope thanks to the support of community like you.
