Blanca’s Story

Blanca, Spanish for “white”

Blanca was just 4 years old when she was referred to The Rainbow Project for therapy after experiencing homelessness, domestic violence, and traumatic loss. She was struggling with severe behavioral challenges and speech delays.

Through a combination of play therapy and trauma-focused CBT, she learned to express emotions, regulate behavior, and build coping skills.

Today, Blanca shows confidence, curiosity, and improved daily functioning. She’s carrying her progress into family life with pride. Blanca’s story shows how trauma-informed care changes lives: after facing homelessness and violence, she learned to express emotions, regulate behavior, and build confidence through therapy.
